Training of Food Processing to Rural Women
Students organized a free blood group detection camp in the village. Blood group donation camps for students are also arranged every year on occasions.

The College encourages the students to explore their scientific knowledge to make them aware of different aspects of field of food technology. During the year 2010-11 students carried out testing of quality of drinking water served in local areas. The research paper based on this project is selected for publication in an international journal.
World Food Day
celebration was organized by college. During this event a rally was organized in the city to create the awareness about food and nutrition. A road show was Also performed at various places in the city to make people aware of food hygiene and safety and food born diseases.
Poster session was arranged on world food Day for the students. About 15 posters on various topics like Nutritive value of Milk, Indigenous Milk Products, Importance of Fruits and Vegetables, Importance and Methods of Preservation, Introduction to Food laws, etc were prepared by the student
Lab scale production of different food products viz., Tomato Ketchup, Mix Fruit jam, Banana Chips, Soya Milk, Pomegranate Squash, Amla- Jinger Squash, Soyanuts, Bhakharwadi, Dhoikla, Amla Pickle, Chicken-65, Chicken Biryani, etc. was carried out and sold in a small.
Food Fare organized in college campus. Local newspaper reporters along with local dignitaries participated and tested various dishes prepared by students.
Parent’s meet:
We have conducted Parents meeting for the interaction with them for their quires and suggestion. There was great response from parents of students for this meet.
Study Tour & Industrial Visit:
Purpose of Tour
For the study five dairy organizations were selected. The detailed information regarding the marketing policies viz. product, price, promotion and distribution policies of the dairy units were collected by the discussions with the Managing Director, Marketing Managers and Assistant Marketing Managers of these organizations.
Objectives
- Development of infrastructure for the procurement of milk in rural areas to ensure an assured market for milk producers through out the year, as well as to offer the best remunerative prices.
- Fulfill the growing needs for milk & milk products of the consumers in Maharashtra and other territory.
- Supplement the programme extension & inputs, with particular reference to feed & fodder production and implement an intensive, breeding programme for milk animals to increase milk production.
- Imparting training for developing human resource at rural level for effective leadership. Management skill and improvement of service to rural milk producers.
- Running co-operative development cell to increase awareness and to herald active women participation for better management of co-operatives and their positive role in democratic setup.
College also arranged a week long study tour in March 2009. During this tour Students visited to renowned industries like Parle Biscuits Pvt. Ltd, Khopoli, Maphro Industries Pvt. Ltd., Mahableswar, Maganlal Confectionaries, Lonawla, Good Foods Pvt. Ltd., Aurangabad, Amul, Warna, Gokul Dairy, Kolhapur & NAFARI, Pune Students also visited tourist spots like mahableswar, Ajantha, Yallora, Lonawala,etc during this tour.
